Australian Book Tour Photo Album: Part Four

My Australian book tour photo album #4. After a great time in Clare and Kadina, I finished my South Australian leg of the tour with two very fun events in Adelaide yesterday. Firstly, a brilliantly Irish-themed lunchtime event at the Burnside Ballroom, organised by Meegan, Andrew and all the fantastic team at the Burnside Library. There was live Irish music playing on arrival, packets of Tayto Irish crisps on every seat, and a lively performance from a very talented troupe of young Irish dancers.

In the evening, it was my big pleasure to join my old friends from Dymocks Adelaide – Mandy, Rohan and Louise – for an event at the State Library of South Australia. It felt like a real homecoming, with my Mum, sister Maura, brother Stephen, nephews Dominic and Xavier there, and many school friends from Clare too (thank you Jude, Fiona, Frank (and Michelle), Joylene, Mel) and the many other readers and Facebook friends who came along. My big thanks too to Mandy at Dymocks for the gorgeous Trip of a Lifetime window display in their Rundle Mall store.

Thanks so much to everyone involved for such a warm home state welcome, andbig thanks too to Clive from Penguin Random House for taking such good care of me and my books in South Australia. The icing of the cake as I left SA? The news that The Trip of a Lifetime is the number 1 fiction title in Australia again this week. Thank you!

Next stop, Western Australia!
